Tall French Empire Table Lamps

Colors brown and the lampshades are brownish yellow gold
Material: Cast iron, silk, beads

Light E27 max 60w
Tall and heavy lamps, made of converted candle holders.
Fluted column on tripod base terminating in lion paws and cut acanthus leaves.
Triangle-shaped base and foliage ornaments
Cast iron with a patinated bronze look.
The lampshades are hand made with beaded fringes
Condition: the lamps are in a good condition the shades has minor wear

Empire is an early 19th century design movement in architecture, furniture, other decorative arts and visual arts.
It represents the 2nd phase of neoclassicism.
Popular between 1800 and 1815, the period of the Consulate and the First French Empire, although it lasted until the late 1820s.
The Empire style originated in France from which it spread to Europe and the United States.
The Empire style derives its name from the reign of Emperor Napoleon I in the First French Empire,
when it was intended to idealize Napoleon's leadership and the French state.
The previous fashionable style in France was the Directoire style, which replaced the neoclassicism of the Louis XVI style with more restrained and minimalist forms. The new Empire style brought a full return to ostentatious wealth.
